No, our treats are baked at low temperatures and dehydrated to take moisture out while preserving the nutrients. They are best kept in their original packaging with the zip seal closed and kept out of direct sun.

Skalliwags treats have a long shelf life because of the low moisture content. They’ll keep well for as long as two years unopened.

Depending on the size of your dog, you’ll be serving a proportional amount of calories based on vet or other recommendations. Whatever calories are allotted for their daily food, you can switch out 10% for treats. The nice thing about Skalliwags treats is that they are all canine appropriate and supplement health. Variety keeps it playful too!

We do not add anything artificial to our treats. Skalliwags will never use preservatives in our treats. 

All of our meat is from a restaurant distributor, and comes only from Federally inspected facilities. 

Our elk and bison are from Canada, and are raised free of antibiotics or steroids, and are grass-fed/organic. 

Our venison is from New Zealand where the highest-quality venison comes from. New Zealand venison live where the temperate climate allows them to be raised out on pastures, eating live, growing grasses all year round - which makes for far better meat. 

Our kangaroo is wild, and sustainably sourced from Australian government conservation cull programs - a practice that promotes herd health.

We believe all dogs deserve treats and so we’ve developed low fat options and hypo-allergenic treats for those dogs who are on restricted diets. Kangaroo and elk are great sources of low fat protein. You’ll love our single ingredient, novel protein treats when you’re trying to find one that’s just right for your pet’s dietary needs.
